Agile, Scrum, and Kanban in a Day

NextUp Solutions’ Agile, Scrum, and Kanban in a Day (ASKD) course is a one-day class that provides students with an understanding of Agile principles as well as the frameworks that make Scrum and Kanban effective for delivering projects. Students will take away from the training an understanding of high-level Agile Principles, Kanban systems, the Scrum framework, shared understanding of Agile terms, and a mutual perspective on Agile methods related to their projects. Exercises, demonstrations, facilitated discussions, and more are interwoven throughout the course to illustrate the principles being taught.

This course also allows students to claim 7 Project Management Institute (PMI)® Professional Development Units (PDUs)* and 8 Scrum Alliance Scrum Education Hours (SEUs).

Course Outline

Our ASKD courses uses Kanban and Scrum to teach the class. The course is run using sprints, and sprint planning is used to identify the sprint goals and key learning modules for each sprint. We use a Kanban board and burndown charts to create transparency and to track progress to completion. Sprint reviews and retrospectives help ensure students get the best learning experience and value from the class.
